Matthew, while in overall control of the business is still working “on the tools” and generally completes all the servicing and repairs for our portfolio of customers. Having accumulated vast knowledge both from a managerial capacity and an engineering capacity he has a solid set of skills when it comes to diagnosing boiler faults and completing servicing and repairs. Outside of work you’re likely to find Matthew with his young family or in the gym, working towards an outlandish fundraising event. In December 2021, Matthew attempted to run 48 miles in 24 hours to raise funds for cancer research UK and has vowed that the next challenge will be bigger yet so watch this space. Having left my previous role as Head of operations at a national company, I’d had plenty of first hand experience observing how businesses across the industry where operated and most importantly, where they were falling short. One key element that I felt was commonly overlooked was good old fashioned customer service. From the outset I wanted to create a culture within Phoenix Heating Specialists that grasped the importance of this fundamental factor and also embraced a carefully selected number of expressions. These expressions would become our “core vales”, a set of values deeply rooted and embedded within each employee that represents the business, in order to ensure that we are working in unison with the same goals and ambitions in mind.
