How long does a typical boiler installation take?

Each installation is unique and timescales depend on various factors. As a rule of thumb, if you are swapping your existing boiler for the same type (for example, combi to combi) we would estimate one full day. If you where converting your system to a combi boiler, we would estimate two days. Please note, these are simply estimation because as previously mentioned, each installation poses different challenges.

Can I spread the cost of my new boiler?

You can absolutely spread the cost of a new boiler. Utilising Phoenix Financial consultants, we are able to offer you interest free finance over 12 months, or interest baring finance over 3, 5, 8 and 10 years at 9.9% apr.

How do I know if I need a heating engineer to attend my property?

In this scenario we would advise speaking to a member of our team and informing them of the issues you are having. They are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to help you find the most cost effective solution.

How do I know if I need to replace my gas boiler?

There are many perks to a new boiler such as warranties, increased efficiency etc. If you are unsure if you need to replace your boiler, we would strongly recommend speaking to our team. Once they have established some facts they will be in a position to provide you with the pros and cons of replacement.

My boiler has thrown up a fault code, what should I do?

We would firstly recommend looking up the fault code in your manufacturers instruction booklet. This will give you some idea of the severity of the fault and if you relay this fault to our technical team, they will be best placed to advise on the best course of action.

Do you complete general plumbing repairs or just heating?

While we specialise in the heating aspect of the industry, all our engineers are also time served plumbers meaning we can in some instances provide this service.

I'm experiencing issues with radiators not getting hot, what shall I do?

Radiators not emitting the correct amount of heat can be caused by a number of issues. It’s almost certainly down to a circulation issue however the cause of that circulation issue could be range of things. Generally, you will require an engineer to complete some diagnostic testing to pinpoint the issue.

Are your engineers gas safe registered?

All our engineers are gas safe registered and direct employees of the business.

How frequently should I get my boiler serviced?

Your boiler should be serviced every 12 months by a gas safe registered engineer.

What is a chemical flush?

A chemical flush consists of putting cleaning chemicals into your central heating system and the combination of those chemicals and heat from your boiler circulate around your system and help break down sludge and dirt.

What is a magnacleanse?

A magnacleanse is a chemical flush on steroids. It basically mimics the chemical flush process with the only addition been a magnacleanse unit. This is two giant magnets that grab hold of the dirt and debris loosened via the chemicals and then are subsequently removed from the system.

What are the cons to a combi boiler?

While combi boilers are a fantastic solution for most homes, they are not the best solution for all property types. The main drawback to a combi boiler is that it simply does not have the capacity to deal with two hot water outlets simultaneously. In a family home where its likely two people will shower at the same time, an alternative option would likely be better suited.

How do I pay for work once completed?

Upon completion you will receive an invoice from our office. From there you can either complete a bank transfer to the details provided on the invoice, or click pay now and pay using your credit or debit card.

Why do you provide a central heating filter?

A central heating filter is a magnet that collects dirt and debris prior to it entering your boiler. It’s a requirement to validating your warranty as per the installation specification of most manufactures.

Why do you provide a limescale filter with new boiler installations?

The vast majority of the east riding is a very hard water area. Limescale can have significant damage on your boiler and therefore we find fitting these limescale filters offers protection and as such reduces the risk of breakdown further down the line.

What is a PH test and why do you complete one on our central heating system?

This is a quality control measure we have implemented to ensure that your boiler stands the test of time. It’s estimated that 85% of breakdowns are caused by poor water quality within the system therefore this test helps us ensure that we are doing our job effectively.

Do you employ sales people?

No. Our aim is to provide our customers with expert, transparent advice. That’s why all surveys are completed by engineers who know exactly what they are talking about.

I've got my online gas boiler quote, now what?

Once you’ve received your online boiler quote, you will receive a call from our team! Don’t worry, this isn’t a sales call to ask you to commit to a date. The purpose of this call is to simple clarify your details and request some picture or book a survey, whichever is your preference.

How quickly can you install a boiler should I accept my quote?

We aim to complete emergency boiler installation as quickly as 48 hours however this is obviously dependant on availability of both your chosen boiler and our engineers.

Do you complete servicing?

Absolutely! We don’t just install boilers, we want customers for life therefore will complete all the annual servicing on your boiler.

How do I know my service is due?

If you’re an existing customer, we will contact you a month prior to your service due date to get this booked in.

How quickly can you repair my boiler?

We aim to attend all boiler breakdowns within 24 hours. Our engineers are equipped with a huge range of van stock however in the event they have to order a part, generally we allow an additional 24 hours for part delivery and return visit.

What times slots do you have available?

Our engineers start work at 8am and are scheduled to finish at 5pm. That said however, we are bound by the requirements of our customers and therefore as required can work later into the evening to ensure job completion.

Do you provide a workmanship warranty?

We provide a 12 month workmanship warranty on all work we complete.
